WE PRIDE OURSELVES IN THE PACIFIC

Federal Pacific Insurance (Fedpac) celebrated its 9th Anniversary in July this year to mark its establishment in the Cook Islands.

Fedpac hosted a cocktail held at the Muri Beach Club Hotel attended by Fedpac clients, Cabinet Ministers, Government Officials as well as members of the Cook Islands business community.

Spokesperson and Samoa-based General Manager Namulau'ulu Papalii Sami Leota told guests the evening was a great opportunity to meet and thank the clients and local partners for their support throughout the years.

"Our key message is that we are here for the long term, and we are giving 100% support to the Fedpac Cook Islands team, in particular for the technical underwriting requirements" he said. "We have learnt many things in the past nine years, and we can say that we have made some progress, not only in understanding the insurance needs of the Cook Islands Community, but in partnering with Government and private sector business for more specialized risks".

Manager Eleanor Rivera spoke about the challenges faced by insurance companies in Cook Islands with securing reinsurance treaties due to the Pacific region being prone to natural disasters like cyclones. Despite this, Fedpac have managed to maintain support from key reinsurance underwriters such as Lloyds of London and PWS East Asia. This support has been crucial in allowing us to settle claims quickly and honor genuine claims promptly, which is a point of pride for the company.

The company operates from Federal Pacific House in Rarotonga and prides itself on being part of the community - something solidified through the COVID period. The company has made sure to remain rooted in the local community, supporting and engaging in community work. In 2023, the company partnership with Samoa office, sponsored the Cook Island U16 Oe Vaka team for the regional Waka Ama Championships held in Apia.

Like any other business, Eleanor and her team have their share of good and bad times but have managed to get through them one by one through determination, hard work and staying grounded in their heart for our Cook Islands community.
